Boy, 15, shot in Birmingham park as cops launch manhunt for gunman & appeal for CCTV

Right, brace yourselves, folks, because news coming out of Birmingham is anything but a giggle. A young lad, only 15, found himself on the wrong end of a shooting in Ward End Park.

Police are now on a full-blown manhunt, desperate to bring the culprit to justice. You simply can’t be having this sort of thing, can you?

Paramedics were called to the scene just before 10pm on Friday night. Can you imagine the sheer panic and chaos that must have unfolded?

Armed officers apparently swooped in, giving the boy immediate first aid until the ambulance arrived. Credit where credit's due, that's quick thinking under immense pressure.

The poor kid was then rushed to hospital. We're all sending our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

West Midlands Police are now appealing to the public for any information. Did you see anything suspicious? Were you in the park that night? Every little detail could help.

They're particularly keen to get their hands on any CCTV footage from the area. Someone, somewhere, must have seen something.

"We understand the concern this will cause," a police spokesperson said. "We are doing all we can to find who was responsible and bring them to justice."

And rightly so. This kind of violence has absolutely no place in our communities.

Ward End Park, usually a place for families and leisurely strolls, is now a crime scene. Think about that for a moment.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Don't be shy; do the right thing.

You can contact West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident number 4482 of 10 April. Anonymity is assured for those who prefer it.

Or, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. They’re always there, ready to listen.

The focus right now is on finding the shooter and ensuring the safety of the community.

Local residents are understandably shaken. Who wouldn’t be?

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by our police force.

Let's hope the police catch the culprit soon. This kind of senseless violence needs to be stopped.

We'll keep you updated as the story develops. In the meantime, stay safe out there.

And remember, if you see something, say something. It could make all the difference.

The thoughts of everyone here are with the young victim and his family. Get well soon, mate.
